Library News!

This term has been an exciting one in the library with plenty of reading competitions, and celebrations of literature.
Our Regional Yr 10 Readers Cup champions headed to Brisbane to defend their state title from 2024. The team fought valiantly, showcasing not only their deep knowledge of the books but also their teamwork and commitment. The team of Macy Durrand, Grace Folino-Gallo, Pepita Prettejohn-Nouhaud and Jem Williams were runners up on the day. This was a tight run competition and a nail-biting finish – our team came second by half a point! We are extremely proud of their outstanding achievement and the way they represented our school.
Book Week
Book week was another resounding success this year. Throughout the week, students took part in a wide variety of activities, including a scavenger hunt, a literary Kahoot and a book quote quiz – just to name a few. With so many competitions there were many happy winners walking away with books…. And more books.
The week concluded with the much-anticipated Year 12 and Staff Book Character Parade. This event has always been the highlight of our assemblies, and this year did not disappoint. We had the highest number of participants ever, with some incredibly creative costumes on display. A special mention must go the Year 12 Economics class and Mr Vaughan, who put on an entertaining skit that stole the show.
Library Loyalty Card Draw
Finally, congratulations to Aisha Hamelink, the lucky winner of this term’s Library Loyalty Card Draw. By borrowing books regularly, Aisha earned entries into the draw and has walked away with a brand-new book to enjoy.
It has been a wonderful term in the library, full of reading, creativity and community spirit. We look forward to an exciting last term after the holidays.
Happy reading,
