Year 10 English

Fundraising for R U OK?

Last week, our Year 10 Essential English Preparation students brought their assessment project to life by running a fundraising stall in support of the R U OK? Foundation.

After carefully crafting persuasive proposals, planning their stalls, and designing creative advertising, the students worked collaboratively to deliver a series of exciting and delicious fundraising activities across Week 9, Recess 1. Our campus was buzzing with energy (and sugar) as students and staff enjoyed a range of treats and games. There were baked biscuits and cupcakes, sweet and icy snacks, freshly made iced coffees, and even some friendly competition with a variety of games to participate in.

Their hard work and teamwork paid off, not only did they raise funds for an important cause, but they also demonstrated the practical communication, organisation, and collaboration skills at the heart of Essential English.

The students should be incredibly proud of their efforts. Their vibrant stalls and positive spirit made for a perfect conclusion to their assessment project, while also raising awareness about mental health and the power of connection.

As the R U OK? message reminds us: check in on your mates—a simple conversation could save a life.

Kind regards
