After our adventure back to the roaring 1920s with the high-energy Charleston, students continued their time-travelling dance journey, grooving through the music, moves, and magic of the decades that followed. In the 1950s, we rocked around the clock with legendary artists like Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry, learning energetic moves such as The Twist and some classic Rock ‘n’ Roll spins.
The glitter and glam of the 1970s Disco era had students striking poses with the John Travolta Point, getting down with The Bump, and dancing in sync with The Hustle.
Then came the bold beats of the 1980s, where we stepped into the world of Breakdancing! Students impressed us with their skills as they practised Toprock, showed off some cool Freezes, and even mastered the crowd-favourite move, The Worm!
In the 1990s, it was all about fun and flair. With the music pumping, students brought the vibe with the Running Man, Roger Rabbit, Cabbage Patch, and some iconic MC Hammer steps.
And to cap it all off, we held our very own Moonwalk Challenge, a chance for students to test their smoothest slides and glide like the King of Pop himself. (Don’t forget to check out the clip below). Well done to all our incredible dancers for bringing the decades to life.

Wishing the students participating in the Grand Final of the Talent Show the very best of luck as they take to the stage one last time! I’m so incredibly proud of everyone who has taken a chance, shared their talent, and given their all in the lead-up to this moment. Your courage, creativity and hard work have not gone unnoticed. We hope you can join us in the hall tomorrow at 9:05am for what promises to be a wonderful celebration of our school’s amazing talent!
As I head off on Long Service Leave for the remainder of the year, I want to wish all of our students the very best for Semester 2 as they begin an exciting new unit of Music. I look forward to returning in 2026 to lead our next school production.
Keep shining,
