Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,
A big thank you to all our families who were able to attend Assessment Conversations last week. It was wonderful to see parents, carers, children, and teachers engaged in meaningful discussions about student achievements this semester and goals for the remainder of the year. What a valuable opportunity this has been. The preparation by our teaching staff—and your children—was clearly evident and deeply appreciated.
It is hard to believe that we have reached the halfway mark in our school year this week. It is a perfect time to reflect on the wonderful things that have happened in our school so far. We have so much to be grateful for, and I would like to thank all students and staff for your contributions to Sacred Heart during the first half of this year. The children have had fun and learnt new things this term, from ‘minibeasts’ in the Foundation classrooms, ‘responsible pet ownership’ in Year 1, to ‘sustainable planet and sustainable me’ in Year 6, and more in between!
In addition to the Assessment Conversations, the term has been filled with highlights, including Swimming for Years 1-4, the Year 1 ‘Pet Parade,’ local and division sporting events, a Peace Run visit, Year 5 Camp to Sovereign Hill, and Catholic Education Week Activities.
Thanks, too, to our parents for their support in all these areas, including walking to and from the pool, attending meetings, offering help with the freezer bank, supervision for Camp, and providing great feedback to our teachers last week.
It is all greatly appreciated.
LAST DAY OF TERM ARRANGEMENTS - Friday 4 July
The final day of Term two will be this Friday, 4 July. On this day, we will celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart with a liturgy at 9.00am-10:00am (please note change to start time for Mass). All parents and carers are warmly invited to join us for this special occasion, which will be held in our Multi-purpose Room.
Following the liturgy, we will present our Winter Appeal donations to St Vincent de Paul.
A sincere thank you to all families who have contributed so generously.
To mark the end of term, each child will enjoy a hot dog lunch with a drink provided. There will be no lunch orders on this day. The school day will finish at the time of 2.25pm.
We will also be holding our Jump Rope for Heart event between recess and lunch. Students will rotate through eight fun skipping activities in their class groups, with our Year 6 leaders taking the lead in running each station.
It promises to be a wonderful day of celebration, community, and fun!
We wish you all a safe and happy holiday with your families and friends, and look forward to working with you all again next term.
Kind regards,
Karl Dwyer
