A Spotlight on the Arts

While Michelle was widely known for her dedication to academic excellence, there was another side of her, just as passionate, her deep love for the arts. In particular, the St. Joseph’s school productions were her time to truly shine - stepping into her unofficial role as Director, clipboard in hand, glasses perched precariously on her nose, and the production manual never far from her side.

Michelle approached each production with the same energy and precision she brought to the classroom. From the magic of Aladdin, to the wonder of Mary Poppins, and the underwater adventure of Finding Nemo, she treated each show like a Broadway debut. Her leadership behind the scenes, choreographing rehearsals, encouraging students, and overseeing every costume and curtain call, was nothing short of spectacular.

To Michelle, these productions were far more than performances. They were platforms for student growth. She saw the arts as a vital space for children to develop confidence, collaboration, and creativity. Whether a child was in the spotlight or behind the scenes, she made sure every student felt seen, supported, and celebrated.

As we prepare for our upcoming Beauty and the Beast Jr. production, Michelle’s spirit is very much present. The excitement and buzz of rehearsals all echo the joy she found in these moments. We remember her unwavering belief in every performer and her smile as the curtain fell and the applause rang out.

Michelle’s love for the arts enriched our school in countless ways. Through each song, each line, and each shining performance, we carry her love of the arts forward.
