A Gentle, Grounding Start to Each Day

In the busyness of school life, it’s often the quiet moments that matter most. While some elements of our morning routine have changed, one thing remains at the heart of our school day: our classroom morning circle time and prayer.

This shared practice continues to be a deeply valued part of our day across every classroom. It offers our students a gentle, grounding start—an opportunity to pause, breathe, and feel a sense of calm and belonging before the day begins. In a world that moves quickly, these few minutes of stillness help settle our minds and hearts, preparing us not just for learning, but for being together in kindness and care.

This week, our circle time focus was on the value of gratitude—taking time to recognise the many people and moments that make our school community so special. One of our treasured activities was the Happy Bubble Memory, where children closed their eyes to remember a time they felt proud, joyful, or safe at school. They imagined placing that memory into a bright, beautiful bubble, and quietly mimed blowing it into the sky as a way of saying thank you to all who help make our school a place of warmth and welcome.

Our morning prayer this week held particular meaning as we dedicated it to Mrs. Moore, our much-loved former principal. We remembered her with deep affection and gave thanks for the legacy of love, strength, and vision she gifted to our community.

This whole-school approach to beginning each day with intention and connection is more than a routine—it is a reflection of our values, our faith, and our commitment to nurturing the whole child. We are so grateful to walk this journey with your children, and to continue building a school culture grounded in reflection, reverence, and relationship.
