F-4 Our Common Home Incursion

Our Foundation - Year 4 students are looking forward to their Our Common Home incursion next Tuesday, 5th March. Please refer to Operoo for further details.

Students will participate in a range of workshop rotations on the day to further their understanding of Christian stewardship and Aboriginal culture.  Tammy-Lee Atkinsion (Yorta-Yorta Artist), as well as Aunty Greta Morgan (pictured) and Aunty Hilda Stewart (Education Officers, Parks Victoria), among others, will lead student workshops and invite learners to engage in a design process, which will be used to produce metal bin covers, metal bollards and an Indigenous garden at the entrance to the College.  The Our Common Home project will culminate in readiness for our College National Reconciliation Week Mass in May.

FIRE Carriers - Friends Igniting Reconciliationthrough Education

We invite new and existing students from Year 4 upwards to become a FIRE Carrier this year.

As a FIRE Carrier, you will participate in various activities throughout the year, including learning about Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC Week and other significant dates. We also have guests come to speak with us about their life and experiences and we will be going on excursions to visit local Aboriginal Elders and artists.

FIRE Carrier meetings are held once a month during lunchtime.

All new FIRE Carriers will be commissioned at our National Reconciliation Week Mass in May.

Students who would like to be a FIRE Carrier or have any questions, can contact their TA or myself at school for further information.
