Alpine 100 Bike Camp

o

After a long drive to Myrtleford we set up camp before heading off to the local footy club for an amazing clinic. All of the Alpine 100 participants had a chance to meet and mingle at the BBQ dinner before retiring to their tents.

Day one of the ride we took our bikes up to Beechworth to begin the journey through the hills back to Myrtleford encountering downhill before riding up Tailors Gap for well earned rest in the hot conditions. Students then travelled from Gapstead to Myrtleford challenging themselves to get over the line.

Day two started in Harrietville riding through the picturesque township of Bright and experiencing amazing mountain views before resting in Porpunkah. The last leg of the challenge tested most students with all of the riders finishing 106km journey with great spirits.

Each student received their medal at the final dinner at the Savoy Club amongst the other 10 schools and almost 100 students. Congratulations to Hamish for being awarded our school’s Max Woolcock Medal for tenacity, determination and team work.

A huge thank you to our volunteers who made this camp possible with transportation, support and riding alongside the PSC team. Thank you to Pamela, Craig, Leanne and Gary. The whole team will need this Easter break to recover and reflect upon their massive achievement.
