Benefits for Students with a desire to write:

Discover Your Identity: In the safe haven of writing groups, you’ll find the freedom to be authentic, to express your thoughts and feelings without hesitation. As you learn the authors tips on how to pen down your stories, you’ll uncover facets of your own identity, like unearthing hidden treasures.

Embrace “Failure” as Fuel: Every writer faces moments of doubt, plot twists that don’t quite work, and characters who refuse to behave. But in this program, “failure” becomes a stepping stone. You learn to keep writing, to rewrite, and to transform setbacks into literary victories.

Hone Your Technique: From character-building to crafting vivid descriptions, you’ll receive expert guidance on the art of storytelling. Whether you’re weaving tales of dragons or exploring the mysteries of everyday life, your technique will evolve like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly.

So, young writer, grab your quill, pen, pencil (or keyboard) and join the adventure. Let your words dance across the pages, creating worlds, unravelling secrets, and painting emotions. The Young Writers Program awaits—you’re just a sentence away from your next masterpiece!

Wilson Pancake Day

Last Tuesday we hosted the annual Wilson pancake day lunch, a fun, Wilson-exclusive event that we organise at the beginning of every year to welcome the new Year Sevens to our fabulous Wilson community and to set the year off on a good note. The Year Twelves did an amazing job cooking everyone pancakes for this occasion, stepping up into their leadership role of being Year Twelves.

It was so fulfilling to see everyone in Wilson get involved and enjoy a catchup over delicious pancakes topped with strawberries, maple syrup and for some, a whole lot of whipped cream. Even Willy and Sammy the snakes managed to make an appearance!

Thankyou to our talented Wilson artists for creating the pancake day poster, the Year Twelves for whipping up the delicious pancakes and bringing them in, everyone who chopped up strawberries the night before, Chef Nick and the canteen staff for heating up and bringing in the pancakes, and of course to Mr Riches for all his organising and for his admirable contribution to our beloved Wilson spirit.
