Triple P Parenting Program
The College is happy to announce the Teen Triple P Seminars schedule for Term 1.
The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is a highly effective parental guidance program that equips parents with the essential tools to nurture self-assured, well-adjusted children and adolescents. By fostering these skills, it enhances family bonds, and empowers parents to address misbehavior constructively and proactively avoid potential issues.
These sessions will be facilitated by Ms Sheleen Davis (College Psychologist) supported by Mrs Sara Mano (Early Childhood Co-ordinator).
Seminars will be open to parents of students in Pre-Kindy – Year 5.
The program consists of three seminars on Wednesday evenings in the CPA Foyer.
- Wednesday 6 March 2024, 5.45pm–8.00pm. Topic: The Power of Positive Parenting
- Wednesday 13 March 2024, 5.45pm–8.00pm. Topic: Raising Confident, Competent Children
- Wednesday 20 March 2024, 5.45pm–8.00pm. Topic: Raising Resilient Children
This program is sponsored by the ASC Parents and Friends’ Society.
Junior School Cocurricular activities – Term 1
Welcome to a new year of cocurricular activities for our students in Years 3–6. The majority of cocurricular clubs commence in Week 5, starting Monday 26 February, and will continue until the end of term. Please note, however, that there are exceptions, with the following programs to commence this week:
- Running Club (Years 4–6; Year 3 may participate if accompanied by a guardian)
- Music ensembles
- Year 6 Robotics (Year 5 to commence in Week 5)
- All Years 3–6 Dance
- Swimming Carnival Training (Years 3–6)
Please note that registrations must be made via the student login (not parent login). Students in Year 3 will be provided with their SEQTA login by their class teacher. Year 4, 5 and 6 students will be signed in automatically if using their school device. Registrations may not be done during school time, and we encourage families to sit down together during this process as they determine what opportunities they seek to take up this term.
It is suggested that students participate in no more than two activities per week. This is to ensure balance in their school week, as well as helping to ensure opportunities remain available for other students.
Parents are asked to deliver their child/ren to all before-school activities, and students will move directly from their classroom to any after-school groups. Students may bring a ‘Crunch and Sip’ style snack with them. They are to be collected by a parent or guardian from the Junior School pick up zone at the College by 4.30pm, except for those students who are pre-registered to attend OSHC. A roll will be called during all cocurricular activities, and a record of participation is kept.
Vacation Care
Our Summer Vacation Care program received such positive feedback. We would like to thank our Vacation Care staff and educators, along with our All Saints' families and community members, for their contributions to the program's success. The children enjoyed a diverse range of entertaining activities, with them noting their highlights.
- An Alice in Wonderland and Mad Hatter tea party
- Inflatable waterslide
- Animal farm petting zoo
- Magic show from Magic Dale
- Face painting and silent disco
Tech Trek
On 6 and 7 February our Year 4 and 5 students embarked on Tech Trek, an event tailored to encourage our students to “trek” into the digital world, instilling our core values of Empathy, Respect, Integrity and Courage (ERIC).
The first day commenced with a talk by Mr Ian Mackay-Scollay (Director of ICT), focusing on the importance of device care. Excitement filled the air as Year 4 and new Year 5 students received their iPads and Apple Pencils, while other Year 5 students delved into skills workshops. Following this, all groups reconvened for a creativity session titled ‘The Brand of You’, where they learned to create personal logos using Apple tools. The day concluded with an invaluable online safety Webinar presented by The Cyber Safety Project, where students learned about personal, private and public spaces online.
On the second day students reflected on the webinar’s teachings and created animations of themselves as responsible digital citizens. They then collaborated in class groups to complete their ‘Digital Passports’, deepening their understanding of device care and fostering positive digital citizenship practices. Tech Trek 2024 has proved to be an enjoyable and valuable experience for all involved.
