Well done Division Swimmers:

Congratulations to Jude, Mac, Addison, Kayla, Edie, Mila, Sam, Amber and Kaiya for their terrific swimming last Friday at the Division Swim Meet.  We had a cracking day for the event and everyone was super organised and ready to swim.  There were some quick times in the pool and a big shout out to those who broke their PB’s. A special mention must be made of the 11YO mixed freestyle relay team who somehow managed to complete there event which started with a late flying leap in the to water.

Well done to Jude, Mila and Addison who have made it through to Regional Swimming on 22 March in Horsham!

A big thank you to Coach Dean for all his amazing support and tips and tricks.  A bit of an all-rounder as our coach, heavy lifter, cheer squad, time keeper and driving supervisor!  Thanks Dean.  Thanks also to the families who were able to make it along and helped out whilst there. Your support and assistance is always so gratefully received.

Division Lawn Bowls:

A big thank you and well done to everyone who tried out for the school’s bowls team.  The turn out was excellent and all students tried very hard. We have now announced out squad of 20 who will train in preparation for our event in August.  Well done everyone and good luck to the team with their training!

Afterschool Netball Opportunity:

Buninyong Primary School is planning on entering on team/s into the Darroch Afterschool Netball Competition at Llanberris Netball Stadium.  These will be run on Tuesday afternoons (game times expected to be 4pm, 5pm and 6pm) in Term 2 (commencing 23 April, 2024) and is a participation competition only (i.e. there are no finals).  The competition will run for nine weeks.  Lunchtime training sessions may run if there is an adult available.

Grade 3-6 students (boys and girls) interested in joining a team will need to register via Compass and make payment before 27 March, 2024. Please note that we will endeavour to include all interested students and preferred days.  Teams will be decided by Claire Morris and will be based around the groups of Grade 3/4 and Grade 5/6.

The cost is $50 (+ VNA if required) and will need to be paid upon registration (27 March, 2024).  A refund will be given to those not placed in a team.  Uniform will be provided this year and the hire of these is included in the cost. Please note that own transport to and from games will be required each week. This will not be a staffed event and we will be relying on parental assistance at the game to coach and score.  Please indicate on the registration form if you are interested in filling the coaching/scorers roll.  N.B. teams will not be entered without a designated coach.

Please contact Claire Morris if you have any further questions.

Interhouse Athletics:

A big well done to everyone who took part in today’s 3-6 Interhouse Athletics!  There was a lot of activity and colour throughout the day. Results are being processed and we look forward to hearing the results soon.

A big thank you to all the adults (staff and families) who helped make the days possible, particularly those who offered their assistance on the day.  There is so much help needed for days like this to run, so to each and everyone who helped, thank you from all of us.

Interhouse Cross Country:

On 15 March, 2024, the whole school will take part in the Interhouse Cross Country.  It is an exciting day where students have the opportunity to earn points for their house.

Last year, Inglis (green) took the title off Scott.  Who will win the shield this year??

Click here to view the information for the day (including maps).

We are very much in need of adults who can help out for all or part of the event as course marshals. No running is required but if you’re able to assist, please click here and get in touch with Claire Morris (claire.morris@education.vic.gov.au).
