This week's notes

Dear families and friends,

New Principal

As many of you may be aware of we are currently searching for an Acting Principal to begin in Term 2. The School Council chose to appoint an Acting Principal and look at offering a full appointment later in the year.

In further news,  I will be stepping down from my current teaching role at the end of Term 1 to begin my journey into retirement. April 4th is the 35th anniversary of my teaching at Cavendish PS and I thought it a fitting time to move on. Cavendish has been, still is and will continue to be a fantastic school with great students and families and I will leave with many wonderful memories.

Thank you everyone

Miss P

Parent / Teacher Interviews

Interview appointment times for Tuesday 19 March, opened earlier this week on the UEducateUs app. If you would like to make an appointment please get in quickly to ensure you get your preferred time slot. If you cannot attend on the set date please contact your class teacher to make an alternative time.

Red Gum Festival

Please read the Red Gum Festival page in this newsletter. Like previous festivals the school plays a big role on this day. This year we will be hosting many activities, holding a food stall and selling nesting boxes. The senior class students have been busy with Mrs Bell getting their leaves ready for the festival.  I am sure they will look amazing when finished.

Pyjama Day

The Junior School Council are holding a Pyjama Day on Thursday 14 March. For a gold coin donation children can wear their pyjamas, slippers and/or dressing gown to school.  (A change of clothes for later would be a good idea!)

SGSSA Athletics 2024

The Year 3- 6 students have begun training for the SGSSA Annual Athletics Sports (Southern Grampians School Sport's Association) to be held on Tuesday 26th March with a 9:15 start. We have a change of venue this year and the sports will be held at Mitchell Park,  Mt Napier Rd, Hamilton. A program will be sent out closer to the time. Please keep this date free and remember parents are asked to provide transport for their children on this day.

Past students

Some of our past students Indi, Samuel, Hammish, Cody and Emily had a Year 12 dress up day last week at Baimbridge College.  The theme was dress in your old Primary School uniform.  They were pretty chuffed that they still fit into it!

Enjoy the long weekend
