A message from Stage 2

A Heartfelt Thank You from Stage 2

As the year comes to an end, we would like to extend our sincerest thank you to all the families, staff, and students who have made this year so memorable. Your support and dedication have been truly appreciated. We wish everyone a safe, restful holiday season filled with joy and special moments

Celebrating Stage 2 Successes!

Congratulations to our Stage 2 students who participated in the Stage 2 & 3 Week 5 Celebration of Learning assembly. It was wonderful to see these students overcome their nerves and confidently take to the stage to share the learning that has been occurring in Term 4. A big round of applause also goes to all the students and staff involved in the Week 7 Creative Art Showcase. Your hard work and creativity truly shone through!

English

Stage 2 students have also been thoroughly engaged in their new book study, Kicking Goals with Magic and Adam Goodes. This insightful book not only focuses on improving comprehension and writing, but also highlights key values, such as teamwork, perseverance, collaboration, and the importance of confronting racism.

As part of their learning, students have been creating persuasive texts, arguing why their chosen role model is the best and presenting these to their class. They have also been honing their skills in writing compound sentences to enhance their writing fluency.

Looking ahead, students will explore the world of comics, focusing on how they are made, before creating their own Christmas-themed comic towards the end of the term.

Mathematics

In maths groups, each group have been focusing on data and chance. Students have enjoyed exploring the probability of different events occurring and analysing how likely they are to happen and recording data in a variety of ways. It's been a fun and engaging way to deepen their understanding of these important mathematical concepts.

Science and Technology

In Science and Technology, Stage 2 students have been exploring the fascinating world of living and non-living things. They have been learning to identify the characteristics that distinguish living organisms from non-living objects, such as the ability to grow, reproduce, and respond to their environment. Students have engaged in hands-on activities and discussions, deepening their understanding of how living things interact with their surroundings and the essential features that support life.

Other KLAs

As we come to the end of 2024, it's a great time to reflect on the incredible learning and achievements in other areas of our learning.

In PDHPE (Personal Development, Health, and Physical Education), students have developed important life skills, learned about healthy living and safety, and worked on fostering strong relationships and personal wellbeing.

In PE and Sport, our students have displayed remarkable enthusiasm and teamwork, participating in a variety of physical activities, building their fitness and sportsmanship along the way.

In Art, students have explored their creativity, producing wonderful works that showcase their unique artistic talents. Whether through drawing, painting, or sculpture, their efforts have been truly impressive.

Drama has allowed students to express themselves through performance, developing confidence and creativity in front of an audience. It has been a joy to see their skills grow in this area.

Finally, in Music, students have embraced the joy of making music, whether through singing, instrumental performance, or exploring rhythm and melody. Their musical talents have added much to the school’s vibrant culture and this was evident at our K-6 Creative Art's Showcase.
