Student Absentees, Late Arrivals & Appointments

Notifying The College When Your Child Is Absent

We wish to remind all families the process of notifying the College when your child is absent or attending an appointment during the school day.

  • PAM is the official College platform for families to register the absence of their child, whether it be due to illness, for planned appointments or holidays ahead of time. PAM is secure and accessible 24 hours a day.
  • Your child’s absence / late arrival or early finish must be registered by 9.45am that day.
  • If the 9.45am cut off has passed, you must register your child’s absence for that day with the relevant campus via the following email:

Bentleigh East     absentee.student.bentleigh@stbedes.catholic.edu.au

Mentone                absentee.student.mentone@stbedes.catholic.edu.au

  • If neither of the above methods are available to you, please call our Absentee line on 9582 5999 – Press Option 2 after choosing the relevant campus.

To ensure the safety of our students, the College cannot accept text messages regarding an absence, late arrival or early finish presented by students on their phones.

Students are expected to arrive by 8.40am and to stay on College property until they are dismissed at 3.15pm. Parent notification is required when your son is arriving late, leaving early, absent or has planned absences.  Should students arrive after 8.40am, they must sign in at Student Services. Parents will receive a SMS if their child is absent from his morning Homeroom or Tutor Group.

Student Medication Authority Form

The wellbeing of all our students is central across every area of the College. To ensure the safety of medication administration at school, no student is allowed to self-medicate whether it is prescription or over the counter medication.

If your child requires ongoing prescription medication, a Medication Authority Form must be completed by your doctor and medication provided in its original packaging.

Any short-term medication required during the school day such as antibiotics or pain relief following an injury, Parents / Carers are to complete the Medication Authority Form. This also applies to all camps and excursions.

A medication authority form is not required for Ventolin for asthma or adrenaline auto injectors for anaphylaxis as these form part of your child’s action plan.

Please contact our First Aid Offices if you require further information.
