Co-curricular - Junior Sport Stage 3

Stage 3 Sport - Highlights

Blink and you may have missed it. This Saturday will be the final round of Summer sport for the term and the final round of sport for the year. I wish all our teams all the best for their final games. Fingers crossed for the Prep L Basketball team and the Prep B Touch Football team, who head into the final round undefeated. Let’s put our best foot forward this weekend and aim to play the most complete games we can. Work hard for each other and support your teammates to the end. That way, when you walk away from the game, you can do so with your head held high, win, lose or draw.

It was great to see so many parents and carers out at Birrong Pool on Friday supporting all the boys in the Junior School as they thrashed and splashed up the pool in the annual House Swimming Carnival. It was a great day, and the boys are to be commended for their behaviour. Congratulations to Rice House for being crowned the 2024 Swimming Champions. We also acknowledge the individual performances of our Age Champions:

  • 10 years (Year 5) – Rocco Clarke (Hanrahan)
  • 11years (Year 5) – Bryan Zheng (Coghlan)
  • 11 years (Year 6) – Nathanael Chan (Hickey)
  • 12 years (Year 6) – Tyler Ladden (Rice)

With the closing out of the Summer sport season, we turn our attention to the Junior School Co-curricular Presentation Afternoon. This will be held on Friday 29 November in the College Gym. The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30 PM and is anticipated to finish at 6:30 PM. This is a compulsory event for all boys that have taken part in the College Co-Curricular Program this year. Parents/carers are warmly invited to attend the afternoon’s proceedings as well. Boys should be attired in full College Summer uniform.

With only two weeks of school remaining for the year, it can be a very busy time. I wish you all a calm and smooth run towards the conclusion of 2024.
