Principal's Report

 Dear Parents,

In this, our second last newsletter for 2024, our thoughts are very much geared to having a very successful finish to this year, and in planning for a successful start to next year.

We are very keen to have as many students participate in our upcoming swimming programs as possible.  Our P - 4 students will be going to Flippers from the 9th - 13th of December, and our grade 5 and 6 students will be spending the day at the beach on the 18th of December. With the recent spate of drownings across the country, and as we head into the warmer months where children spend lots of time around water there is no better time to sharpen those swimming and water safety skills. Please sign up via XUNO.

It's also that time of year where we start to undertake Christmas activities. As a government school, the activities we undertake will be more centred on Santa Claus, elves and reindeer. We won't go into religious aspects of Christmas other than a reference perhaps in some carols. If you would prefer your child/ren not to take part in such activities, please simply let your child's teacher know, and we will accommodate your request as best we can.

One of my favourite traditions at the end of a school year is our parent and volunteers morning tea. Whilst a simple affair, it is a time where we as a staff get to show our appreciation for all of the parents and volunteers who have helped make the lives of the students here at school better in some way. As such,  we extend an invitation to anyone who has assisted us to come along on Monday December 16th from 11am to celebrate.

Kind Regards,

Simon McGlade
