Academic Assembly

Last week, we celebrated the achievements of our students who participated in various academic competitions throughout 2024. These students have embraced challenges, demonstrating our College values and expectations of representing the school with pride and developing a growth mindset. We congratulate all students who participated and are proud of your efforts!

Australian History Competition:

Congratulations to Justin L, Ted J, Nate C, and Thar B, for earning a merit certificate, to Jonty B for achieving a credit, and to Liam C, for earning a distinction!

ICAS Competitions:

ICAS Competitions are internationally recognised across 41 countries around the world and are academically challenging, designed to extend students beyond the curriculum. Well done to Alan K and Archie H for receiving merit certificates in the ICAS Mathematics Competition, and to Elizamary J and Justin L, who achieved credits, placing them in the top 30% of the state. Congratulations to Archie H and Justin L for earning a credit in the ICAS Science Competition, placing them in the top 25% of the state.

Our College Commendation system is used to affirm students who strive to achieve personal excellence. It recognises a range of endeavours to which our students contribute, and encourages positive behaviours that can enable student talents to be celebrated as a community. We congratulate the number of students who received commendation badges in recognition of their achievement across Academic, Community Service and Social Justice, Leadership, The Arts, Sport, and Positive Behaviour endeavors.

What's On at School!

Last week, our Year 7 students were busy learning and creating! They made delicious veggie pasta in Foods, and had fun in Science exploring non-contact forces with a hands-on experiment. Great stuff!

Year 7/8 Textiles

Recently we were excited to welcome family members of our Year 8/9 Textiles students for a visit and to see the class in action. Students have been working to finish their quilts and other projects, and it was great to have families there to see the skills they've learnt and lend a hand.

Class of 2024 Graduation

Last week we celebrated the graduating Class of 2024 at the Graduation Mass at Ss Michael and John's Church, followed by the Graduation Dinner, held at Coughlin Park.

It was a memorable evening shared with families and staff, celebrating the accomplishments and growth of the students. As they move forward, they carry with them the friendships, values, and memories built during their time at St Brigid's College. We look forward to seeing them return for future reunions as part of our ever-growing alumni community.

We wish each student every success in their future endeavors, whether it be further study, employment, or travel. To our VCE students awaiting their results, we are proud of your dedication and achievements. Remember, 'the rest is still unwritten' - your journey is just beginning, and the future holds endless possibilities.

Year 9 Outdoor Education

Recently, our Year 9 Outdoor Education students travelled to Portland for their exciting end of year camp, where they put their classroom skills into practice! From mastering trangia cooking and perfecting tent setups, to tackling adventurous activities like caving, sandboarding, and abseiling, students explored and experienced the area's natural highlights. The camp was an opportunity for growth and teamwork, with students challenging themselves and supporting one another, living out our College motto of 'Strength and Gentleness' every step of the way!
