Dear MRC Community,
It is already the end of Week 7 and we are now on the home stretch until the end of 2024. We have had an incredibly busy couple of weeks with some wonderful achievements from our students.
VCAA exams concluded
This week sees the end of the VCAA exams for students who were studying a Year 12 subject. A huge congratulations to all involved from students to staff and families who helped support their children to do their best under pressure and stress. Results for our students who have studied a Year 12 subject will be released on Thursday 12th of December at 7.00am.
VCE results and support
Students are able to access their results via the VCAA results portal- information about how to access that has been placed on Microsoft Teams for students. If students or families are having any issues with access, or have questions in relation to results, please contact the Pathways Team.
Students are invited to visit the Pathways office on Thursday 12th of December and Friday 13th of December for assistance in finalising tertiary course selection.
Upcoming Celebrations and Graduations
Celebrations for our Prep, Year 4, Year 6 and Year 9 students are coming up!
More information will be communicated via Compass and email in the coming week.
A reminder that our Year 12 Graduation takes place on Tuesday 26th of November at the Hill Stand-Flemington Racecourse. Please note that doors open for canapes and drinks from 6.00pm with the ceremony to commence shortly afterwards. It will be a brilliant night to congratulate our graduates.

Upcoming second handbook sale
For your information, this year will see the return of our second handbook sale for students in Years 7-12.
This event will take place over 2 days in Week 9 and Week 10 on Friday 6th of December and Monday 9th of December.
Hard copies of the forms have been distributed to families. If you need a spare copy, please head to the main administration office or access it via Compass.
MRC Scholarship Applications for 2025 are now open
Like previous years, MRC is excited to report our business partners have generously provided financial support to subsidise the costs associated with schooling. In order to ensure this is an equitable process, we invite you to apply for an academic scholarship, with successful recipients receiving funds towards educational items for 2025.
Please read through the attached form carefully for more information. Hard copies are available at the Early Years and Main Administration office.
Prep Transition Program
Our 2025 Foundation (Prep) students have been provided with the opportunity to experience and adapt to a structured school environment prior to their commencement in 2025. Our program provides opportunities for children to experience school life, meet teachers, and build new friendships in a welcoming setting over 5 weekly sessions.
Rotary Club and MRC Community Proje
The Rotary club of Craigieburn has partnered with a number of local community groups and schools to steer a great fundraising opportunity. Our college will be participating in this activity over the next month and we will be raising funds for the following charities:
These charities have been chosen as the recipients of the fundraising drive by the groups who will be actively supporting the drive over the next month. Our Year 9S1 class are the main drivers and will sell raffle tickets within the college and at Craigieburn Central over the next four weeks as part of their community project. Our PFA and members of the Community Hub will also be assisting. You can help by purchasing raffle tickets at either the Main or Early Year Administration offices. Tickets will cost $5 each or 3 for $10.
The following are the prizes that are up for grabs:
1st prize: Trailer, cage and everything in it, including, a 6-burner hooded BBQ, lawn mower and other gardening items along with a wheelbarrow, hampers from local businesses, kids Christmas toys including a bike and helmet. Huge tradies toolbox and much more valued @ $5000
2nd prize: $200 voucher
3rd prize: $100 voucher
Dadfit Program
We are proud to announce that our college is partnering with Dadfit. This innovative program is run by former BBL cricketer Ryan Carters. According to Ryan, Dadfit is a growing community on a mission to make dadding a team sport.
Dad Teams meet weekly in communities, workplaces and sporting organisations.
They take part in:
Team workouts which are fun, inclusive and suitable for all fitness levels.
Dad chats where dads swap stories, cut through small talk and get to what’s really going on.
Dad challenges where dads support dads to put new ideas into practice.
In Term 1 2025, our college will be promoting two Dadfit Programs:
Program 1: Dads & Kids SportsFest afternoon: 3.00-4.30pm, Thursday February 13
Program 2: Dadfit five-week program: 7.00-9.00pm weekly on Thursdays for five weeks, starting February 27
I have attached a flyer for each Dadfit Program. Each program has a QR code to a sign-up form.
If you are a dad of a child at our college (staff or student parent) kindly view the embedded video, talk to other fathers and consider signing up, it’s free.
Finally, please enjoy some of the reflections of activities we have done over the past few weeks and as always, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child's Mentor teacher as a first course of action and check out our new College Website:
