Principal's Desk

Dear Parents,

Kaboom!

It was wonderful to gather together as a community with the Kaboom activities and BBQ event. The weather was finally kind to us, with more than 80% of our families in attendance. The following day we received a phone call from a local neighbour, which is usually cause for concern. However, on this occasion, she wanted to let us know it sounded like everyone was having a wonderful time!

Thanks again to the parents who assisted with the BBQ, including  setting up and packing up. Our new HT marquee was on display, a recent purchase by the PA from funds raised by our school community. It will be getting plenty of use at school and offsite community events.

With 5 weeks of school left for 2024, we are placing a great emphasis on the importance of preparing the students for transition to a new level in 2025.

Transition is such an important aspect of schooling at all stages from Prep to Year 6. As a school we are committed to providing the best learning opportunities for our students at all times. Once again, we value and appreciate the support of parents in building and nurturing an authentic home school partnership.

This term during our Friday ‘Friendship Group’ time, we will be running 'transition groups' to help support students in the transition to new classes for 2025. As a school we want to provide students an opportunity to both reconnect with peers from other classes in their year level but also connect with students who they may not even know from the year group currently above or below them.

This will also introduce students to different teachers and classroom spaces and hopefully help to reduce anxiety for some children. It is also an opportunity for teachers to observe students and identify positive relationships that may be fostered. These groups will be made up of different groups of students each week as well as different teachers to ensure students get to meet and interact with all of their peers. Successful transition is vital to the development of students' sense of belonging, connectedness and academic self-competence, as well as reducing anxiety and any potential mental health issues. Effective transition programs can prepare students for the changes and challenges they may face during a new school year.

Remembrance Day

With yesterday being the 11th of November we commemorated Remembrance Day as a school community. At 11am on the 11th November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. This is a day for Australians to stop at the 11th hour of the 11th month to remember those who fought and died for our country in World War I and all wars and armed conflict.

A Litany of Remembrance

In the morning and the evening, we will remember them.

 We will remember them.

In life’s comings and goings, we will remember them.

  We will remember them.

In the tears and the memories, we will remember them.

   We will remember them.

In the stories and the letters, we will remember them.

    We will remember them.

In the photos and the tributes, we will remember them.

    We will remember them.

In the silence and the stillness, we will remember them.

    We will remember them.

           Lest we forget.

Holy Trinity Representative Uniforms

Our children love wearing Holy Trinity uniforms to represent their school, and we’re thrilled to see their pride! However, to keep this going, we need all uniforms returned, including shorts, T-shirts, basketball singlets, football guernseys, and representative socks.

Thank you to the families who have already returned all items after washing—it is much appreciated. If you find any additional uniform items at home, please send them back with your child ASAP.

Thank you for your support in helping our teams stay prepared for future events!

Miss Humphris

Our students contribute to the posts on a regular basis - I strongly encourage you to `like’ a post of leave a comment. The students get a real buzz to know that parents are appreciating their posts!
