The Access Monash Mentoring Program is highly competitive, and the program is delivered by funding used to support underrepresented students. They assess factors such as the geographic location of an applicant’s home address, whether applicants identified as indigenous/Torres Strait Islander, and other equity factors.
Westall would like to thank ACCESS Monash which is an amazing opportunity for our Year 11 and 12 VCE students to have access to a mentor from Monash University to help them with a particular subject and give them advice while navigating their final school years.
Thank you, students, for your attendance and registration.
Congratulations to these applicants offered a place in first round:
Ishvinder Grewal
Kharisa Rusmanto
Leyn Nguyen

Years 8, 9 and 10 students, Parents and Care givers are welcome to attend our School’s Sport Centre on Wednesday 18th December 2024 where this program will take place as follows:
Year 8 – Period 1
Year 9 and 10 Period 2
Refreshment break for our Presenters 11:30-12
Our school holds an annual event known as “Speed Careering”.
The activity is designed to build student awareness of the various roles/ work options available in our community, including the fact that there are just as many individual career pathways as there are roles.
It involves small group informal discussions. It is, but a dialogue with students and their parents and caregivers from Years 8 to 10.
We look forward to this annual event on the 18th December and thank the following Presenters for giving up their time to talk to our students during this busy time of the year.
Goodman Fielder – staff
City of Kingston – staff
Liz De Nittis from BGKLLEN
Young Achievers staff – Big Brother, Big Sister program
Year 12 Westall Alumini students Krish and Kush Berry, Vishnu,
Jess Tang – South East Community Links
Other members from the Local Community
We have chosen Monday, the 10th February 2025 at 3:30 pm to welcome back our old school students to chat with teachers, share their pathway over pizza and soft drinks.
We look forward for their attendance.
Kind regards,
Ms Geraldine

The Head Start Program supports students completing a School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SBAT) while at school and then with the transition from school into the workforce. Students who are undertaking a School Based Apprenticeships/Traineeship must manage their time between: completing school (usually VCE VM or VPC); completing a Certificate III; work and often outside commitments such as sport and part-time work.
The winner of this award will receive a trophy, a $50 gift card aligned to their chosen employment and their name on the Head Start SBAT of the Year honour board on display in the school's hall of honour.
The Head Start team are pleased to announce that the winner of the Head Start SBAT of the Year award for 2024 is Jovelle Pritchard.
Jovelle has demonstrated admirable commitment and authentic alignment in his pursuit of a career within the Community Services sector. Jovelle loves his work and is excited to further his career within the disability sector.
Whilst already undertaking a Horticulture Traineeship, Jovelle used his school holidays throughout the year to volunteer at Better Health Network. Jovelle quickly impressed them, having the right attitude in the workplace.
Kelley, the Manager says, “Jovelle is a valued team member, noted for his kindness and respectful manner when helping the clients. He has grown in confidence, is always positive and is dedicated to improving his skills and works hard to assist his colleagues. Jovelle has shown commitment to his studies in disabilities as well.”
Congratulations Jovelle. The Head Start team are all extremely proud of your achievements and we have no doubt that this is only the beginning of your success. We wish you all the best.
