PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

It was such a privilege to attend the Year 12 Class of ‘24 Valedictory dinner at the Grove last Thursday night. The venue was amazing with beautiful views and great food and the students looked incredibly grown up, looking like young adults stepping out into the world with exciting adventures ahead of them. It was great to see so many families celebrating this milestone together.  

It was a proud moment for me personally as I have taught many of these students over the last six years of their schooling and they were my first Year 7 class when I started at the College in 2019. This made it very special to award these students with their graduation certificates as College Principal. Thanks to all the families and staff who have shared the secondary school journey. 

Headstart is an excellent opportunity for our students to experience their new classes and get to know the expectations of their new year level coordinators. It can reduce anxiety for students over the summer break as they already know who will be in their class, and for most students, who their teacher will be. Our Headstart program has one week left for 2025 Year 11 – 12 students, who finish on Friday Dec 6th. Students in 2025 Years 8-10 will finish on Dec 13th. Attendance during Headstart is important so please support the program by sending your students to school right up until the end of their program. Students going into Year 11 next year will start a week of work experience on Monday Dec 9th and we wish them all the best as they learn more about the world of work.

Whilst no formal classes will be running in the last week of school, students will be supervised if parents want to send them to school up until Thursday Dec 19th. Students will take part in a planned activities program. 

Presentation Evening is an important night in our school calendar, when we celebrate the achievements of our students throughout the year. We invite all families to attend the Presentation Evening BBQ at 6pm where we will provide a free sausage sizzle and drink. This was well received when we introduced it last year and I look forward to another successful event. We know the pressures of trying to feed the family before attending an evening event and hope that the sausage sizzle helps our families. It’s also a nice opportunity to catch up with each other before the more formal part of the evening.  We hope to see you there.
