Book Fair

Thank you to all the wonderful families who supported our Book Fair this week! As always it is a highlight of the school year for many of our students, and we hope that they were able to find a special book or two that will be well read and cherished.

Whilst not run as a fund raiser, we do earn commissions from sales which contribute towards purchases for our library collection – this year we earned just over $1,000! 

Whilst a range of books from the book trolleys has been selected (which will be available for borrowing from early next year) the balance of funds will also go towards our annual picture story book standing order.

Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge

Certificates for those students that completed this year’s Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge were received earlier this week and have been distributed to students. Congratulations to those wonderful readers! 

We hope that you take up the challenge again next year!

Scholastic Book Club – Issue 8

The final issue for the year has been handed out this week. There is a very quick turn-around for this issue with orders closing next Thursday 28th November. This is to ensure that we are able to receive the orders prior to the end of the school year.

Overdue Book Notices

With the end of the school year not that far away - last week a run of overdue book notices was issued and sent home for any books that were not in student book boxes. If your child ever receives a notice and the book is unable to be located at home, all we ask is that you annotate the notice and send it back to us so that we can look further at school. We know that our students do not deliberately lose books and sometimes this is just a part of growing up – so from a parent’s point of view, don’t stress! We are always grateful for any books that ever do turn up – you’d be amazed at the finds that are sometimes made years from now!!

Holiday Borrowing

Once again with the end of the year being not too far away – it’s time to consider holiday activities. A great activity is reading!! We have lots and lots of books that students are welcome to borrow books for this time period.
