Therapy Dog Visit with Ms VG

Our IELC classes were excited to meet some very special visitors.

Ms VG recently brought in her Therapy Dog, Kashma, and her “Therapy dog in Training”, Duke.

During the session with Y1 and G1 Ms VG spoke about the special work that therapy dogs do.  She explained that a therapy dog is working when it is wearing its jacket, and how it is important to be calm around dogs and how to approach a dog after being given permission to pat it by its owner. 

Students practised some ways to calm themselves when they are feeling nervous and worried and those students who chose to, were able to pat Kashma.
