Grade 3 

Welcome back!

Welcome back to Term Two! It was great to see students eagerly return to school, not only to see their friends and teachers, but to also jump back into some incredible learning. Students quickly re-familiarised themselves with classroom routines and the daily schedule, all while demonstrating our PROUD values. We are so excited to see where Term Two takes us, and we know that students will give 110% to everything that they do!

Reading 

This week, our Grade 3 students embarked on a delightful literary adventure with the introduction of a new book titled "Bush Turkey." Through the whimsical tale of a silly turkey endeavouring to build a house, young readers were captivated by the endearing antics and humorous escapades of our feathered protagonist. As they followed along the turkey's misadventures, giggles filled the classroom, fostering a love for reading and storytelling. With each turn of the page, students eagerly anticipated uncovering the turkey's next comical mishap, fostering a deeper appreciation for creativity and imagination.

Writing

This week in Grade 3, students embarked on an exciting journey into the world of grammar, mastering the art of identifying subjects and predicates in sentences. Armed with newfound knowledge, they eagerly dissected sentences, distinguishing the who or what (the subject) from the action or description (the predicate). Through engaging activities and hands-on practice, our young linguists honed their skills, transforming simple words into powerful sentences. With each discovery, confidence soared, laying a solid foundation for future language adventures.

Maths

Get ready to witness the Grade Three mathematical magicians in action! These young learners have been on a thrilling journey through the land of numbers, mastering the art of regrouping and borrowing with awe-inspiring finesse.

With their pencils poised and minds as sharp as ever, they've tackled addition equations with the finesse of seasoned mathematicians. Through clever regrouping, they've transformed daunting sums into manageable pieces, unlocking solutions with each stroke of their pencils.

But wait, there's more! Our Grade Three marvels have also ventured into the realm of subtraction, where they've embraced the power of borrowing to conquer even the trickiest of equations. Armed with perseverance and a keen eye for detail, they've transformed subtraction challenges into victorious triumphs.Integrated 

This week, Grade 3 students delved into geography with a focus on Australia, learning the names of its states. Through interactive lessons and colourful maps, they explored the diverse landscapes and unique characteristics of each state, broadening their understanding of the vast continent down under.
