Let's move more in 2024!

Sports Day 2024

Last term, on the last day of school we had our House Athletics Day. Each house competed in different sports and races and the house that won was Clarke, all the other houses were very tough to beat and it was a great day for competing in multiple different races across all year levels on a sunny day.

Clarke came first for 800m ( boys +girls ) 100m ( boys +girls)and 400m (boys +girls) .

There were other races on the day which were the relays and the over under drill.

The day was a huge success and everybody had a great time playing each other and having fun.

OHR SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY

On Thursday 2nd May we will be holding the House Cross Country.

For the very first time, students in EVERY year level will be participating.

The event will be held at Macleay Park, Belmore Rd Nth Balwyn. There is ample parking available for parents and carers, if you would like to come along and support the runners.

The races for students in Prep - 2 will be between 12.00 - 1.00pm and there will be a separate race for boys and girls in each year level. The emphasis will be on participation and fun.

IMPORTANT INFO

The races for students in Years 3 - 6 will be between 1.00 - 2.30pm. The House Cross Country is being held in the lead up to the North Balwyn District Cross Country which will be run on Friday 10th May at Macleay Park. Due to the fact that we are restricted in the number of the children we are able to enter into the District Event (10 per race), the selection of the school team will be based on the results of our House Cross Country. Therefore the races for students in Years 3-6 will be age group races. The age is taken at Dec 31st 2024. The age groups and race distances are as follows:

9/10 years (2km)

11 years (3km)

12/13 years (3km)

We are aware that a few Year 3 students will still be 8 years old by Dec 31st, they will still run in the 9/10 year old race but unfortunately they will not be able to compete in the District Cross Country (the North Balwyn District has made this clear).

The children will be transported to and from Macleay Park by bus and students will wear their school sports uniform.
