School traffic
The Governing Council has been working with the local Council to address traffic and pedestrian safety concerns around our school. They suggested one way to get action to ask families to report dangerous driving:
- Should you witness dangerous driving behaviours, we encourage you to make a report to SAPOL's Traffic Watch Hotline. A report can be made by telephoning 131 444, online at www.police.sa.ciov.au/online-services/traffic-watch2, via the Traffic Watch App, or in person at a police station.
- The information captured through Traffic Watch assists SAPOL to determine the future allocation of resources including the deployment of highway and metropolitan motorcycle and vehicle patrols, mobile safety cameras and the Traffic Tactical Unit, as well as better long-term planning to prevent dangerous driving in particular areas.
We think most of the fast driving in our school zone is from drivers not associated with the school, but we also give a gentle reminder to our families to keep speed to 25kph on Kidney Street and 10kph around the town oval side, sor student safety. 🙂Thank you!
Positive parenting
Thank you to those who attended our Positive Parenting workshop last week, put on by the school and Kindy. Thank you especially to Alex Pillar-Rogers who taught us about the Circle of Security and was so generous in sharing her parenting experiences with the group. It was a great and informative night, with lots of laughs and shared goodwill!
Meet the Parents and Friends
Hi all, I’m Emily Kiessling. I moved to Uraidla last year with my husband Chris and our three children, Klara, Kaspar and Karlis. I have a passion for designing beautiful homes. When I’m not at work I am busy planning our own renovations or spending time in the garden. I joined parents & friends to connect with local families and be part of this wonderful community.
Seen around school and Kindy this fortnight!
Quiz Night
Uraidla P.S. Quiz Night Saturday October 186 pm to 10 pm. Uraidla Districts Football/Cricket Club. This is an 18+ event.
Uraidla Primary School’s P&F group are coordinating and hosting this community Quiz Night.
This fun night out is a social event for families of the school as well as the wider community, with a competitive quiz and bonus games. It is also a fundraiser where we will serve wine from local winemakers, and there will also be a silent auction with items donated by locals and local businesses.
All funds raised from this event will go towards projects that enhance the school grounds, provide diverse student learning experiences and benefit the whole community.
You can buy a single or a few tickets and choose your table on the night, joining another smaller group if you wish, or you can buy a full table of 8 at the discounted price. https://events.humanitix.com/uraidla-primary-quiz-night
Please bring along dinner and snacks. Local wine, beer and soft drinks will be available to purchase on the night.
If you would like to donate any services or items that can be used as prizes or silent auction items on the night, please drop items to the front office at Uraidla Primary School or email uraidlapandf@gmail.com
Uraidla Primary Facebook Group
If you haven’t already heard about it, there is a Facebook group for UPS families and we welcome everyone to join (parents/grandparents/carers all welcome). Look for “Uraidla Primary School Families” and answer the 3 simple questions on your connection to the school. This group is a friendly way to find the answers for those questions you may have (e.g. when your child tells you at the last minute its casual day tomorrow, and you can’t remember hearing about it from school!), to get reminders on events coming up, find your lost property!, or a way to connect with other families.
It is not run by the school but is supported by the UPS Governing Council and admin (Jodi Braley) will post information regularly. It is designed to be a group with input from all – so contribute in any way you want to. If you do have a question that you don’t want to post yourself, feel free to forward to Jodi (either by facebook message, email jodi.braley@hotmail.com, or in person at school), who is more than happy to help.
We love brain breaks!

New players are welcome each week, meeting in Stephen’s class♟️
Enrolment in Reception
If you have a child turning 5 in the next 12 months, they should have already enrolled to start school. Children either start school at the start of the year or in July, depending on their age.
Our school has now reached capacity, which means that we give priority enrolment to children in our catchment area. Please note that younger siblings of existing students are guaranteed enrolment.
If you are speaking to other families about enrolling in school, they can find their local school through the Find My School website: Find a school zone or preschool catchment area (education.sa.gov.au)
Enrolments for 2026, both start of year and mid-year, should already be finalised. Please contact the front office for a registration of interest form or enrolment form today!
If you are still unsure or interested in booking a school tour please contact the office on 8390 3209 and book into one of the below time slots.
