PAT Testing

It's that time again when students in years three to six completed the Progressive Achievement Tests.

These include both a reading and a numeracy test. This is an online test that assesses students' reading comprehension skills (interpreting explicit information, interpreting by making inferences, reflecting on texts, retrieving directly stated information) and various mathematical strands (number, measurement, geometry, chance and data).

This test can be used for different reasons.

  1. A check in to see how our students are progressing and whether they are reaching the required standards for their year level.
  2. A progress check to see what their improvement has been from one year to the next.
  3. A check in for teachers to see areas the class is doing well and what areas need improvement.
  4. Individual data to see where there may be strengths and areas for growth.

One of the benefits of this test is that staff are able to access this information immediately making it easier to analyse.

Testing will be completed by the end of week 10but is open until week 4 next term for year 2 students.

If you are interested in how your child is going, please make a time to touch base with your child's teacher.
