School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

New Whole-School Acknowledgement

This term, BNPS has launched a new whole-school acknowledgement focus, which sits under our value of 'Respect' on our school matrix – ‘I build a kindness culture.’

We know that kindness creates a strong foundation for learning and belonging. When students notice others and choose to act in ways that make people feel welcome, safe and respected, they help build a positive school culture. Sometimes this looks big - like standing up for a friend, helping someone who is hurt, or inviting a new student to join in. Other times it’s the little things, saying “thank you”, waiting your turn, listening carefully when others are speaking, or checking in on a classmate who looks upset.

To encourage and celebrate these moments, teachers are giving out tokens when they see students showing kindness and respect. At break times, students take their tokens to the office, swap them for a sticker, and place it on the large display at the front of the school. Once we reach 500 stickers, we will celebrate this achievement together. Each token also goes into a weekly lucky token draw, giving students more chances to be recognised.

Students have already been quick to rise to the challenge! In just the first week, dozens of tokens have been handed out - each one representing a moment where a child chose kindness. We currently have 151 tokens, after just over a week of working on this goal.

We remind the students that kindness is contagious- pass it on!

We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress and celebrating together as our display fills up.
