Library News

Our Premiers’ Reading Challenge concluded last Friday. Reading certificates were presented to the students that completed the challenge during assembly. Well done to everyone that gave it a go! Our school read a total of 2071 books and submitted 463 book reviews. This was a mighty effort! All participating students will receive a formal certificate signed by our Premier in the coming weeks.
With the end of term coming up, it is a fine time to hunt for any APS books that are lurking around your home. We have 179 overdue books and we are looking to get this total down to 0 by the end of next week. A note will be emailed out to folks with the title of the book. If your child has returned this or can’t find the book, please see me in the library and we can sort something out. The option is there to replace the missing book or share another loved book with our library.
It is always fun to see how many books are borrowed throughout the year and so far…..4459 books have been borrowed!! Wowee! We have also had over 100 books donated throughout book week. These books are part of the library but get shared in classroom libraries. More books for all at all times! What a good motto! We definitely have a soft spot for our library and reading.
Let’s have a hunt for any books under couches or at the bottom of bags and get them back on the shelves so they can have a relaxing child-free break in Le Library.
Happy reading folks!
