The Resilience Project

Starting the Year with Gratitude
Welcome back!
As we begin a brand-new school year, we have a wonderful opportunity to set the tone for the months ahead. Through The Resilience Project, our students will continue learning about the importance of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM).
The beginning of the year is a time of fresh starts — new classrooms, new friendships, new learning and new goals. Practising gratitude helps our students focus on the positives around them and build a strong foundation for a happy and successful year.
Gratitude means taking time to notice and appreciate the good things in our lives. It might be feeling thankful for:
- A smile from a friend
- A teacher who helps us learn
- The opportunity to try something new
Our family supporting us every day
When children practise gratitude regularly, research shows they feel more positive, resilient and connected to others. It also helps create classrooms where kindness and respect thrive, setting our students up for a year of growth, connection and success!
You can help by practicing gratitude with your kids at home - at the end of each day, maybe ask your kids this question!
