Year 12 Camp at Lord Somers camp

Last week, the Year 12s spent our very last school camp at Lord Somers. For three days, we were surrounded by a beautiful beach backdrop that gave us the perfect space to relax, reflect on our goals, and simply enjoy being together as a cohort before the demands of Year 12 truly began.
Throughout the camp, we participated in a range of activities that were designed to challenge us as individuals and unite us as a cohort. This included paddleboarding, obstacle courses, t-shirt making and a bush walk led by Mr Chisolm. One of the highlights of camp was Red Faces, where many bravely stepped outside of their comfort zones to collaborate on a performance in front of all their peers. This was a reminder for all of us that Year 12 isn’t solely about academic growth but personal growth as well. We were also fortunate enough to hear from three past students who shared their valuable insights on navigating Year 12, such as the necessity of maintaining balance and perspective through the year ahead.
Beyond all the fun activities, camp reinforced important lessons such as the value of getting a good night’s sleep (thanks, Miss Bui!), reconnecting with nature and remembering to experience the small joys, such as waking up early for a sunrise swim. Most importantly, this camp allowed us to strengthen existing bonds and form new ones with our peers and teachers, leaving us feeling more confident for the year ahead, knowing we have a stronger support network than before.
We would like to sincerely thank all the camp staff and teachers, especially Mr Anderson , who dedicated his time and care to organising such a memorable and meaningful experience that we will all cherish for a long time.
