Year 10 Elective History Excursion
In Week 9, our Year 10 History Elective students visited the Narrabeen War Vets to explore their wonderful museum of artefacts and interview some of our local war veterans. Our visit was part of our learning the role of memory and commemoration in history. It also helped to form the Year 10 Historic Address for our upcoming School ANZAC Day Service. We met with a wide range of veterans who served in Korea, the Gulf, Berlin, Somalia, Afghanistan and even a 100-year-old WWII veteran. The museum featured a vast range of war artefacts donated by the RSL Village members and it was inspiring to see and hear the rich histories of our local service men and women. The connection between Pittwater House and the Narrabeen War Vets remains strong and we will continue to nurture this important community relationship.
