"Feedback is helping someone make things better!" - Max

Over the last couple of weeks, the Foundation students have been introduced to the concept of 'feedback'. Through a Visual Art activity, completed with their Year 1 peers, the students were able to practise giving feedback that was kindspecific and helpful, while learning to listen attentively to others. As we continue to focus on the purpose and power of feedback, we continue to see our mistakes as opportunities for growth!

Here is our procedure if you would like to try it at home!

Year 2/3

Hello Wonderful Families,

What a FANTASTIC class assembly the children were a part of last week. It was wonderful to see many families come and see their hard work. This week we have been busy working on our Inquiry projects. This Term as you know the children have been learning all about keeping their bodies healthy and happy. It is wonderful to see them excited about their learning. In Maths, we have been learning how to tell the time and the class have really impressed myself and Lauren with their knowledge. Enjoy the photo’s and the weekend ahead.

Year 3/4

Congratulations to the Year 3/4 children for doing an amazing job with showcasing their learning at assembly last week. T

This week we have been researching information about our chosen part of the body for our Inquiry projects. We developed a criteria of what we believe will be important to include in our Inquiry. We are looking forward to sharing our learning at our Science Expo in the first week in Term 2.

Year 4/5

Lately in Maths, we have been playing different games. One of the games we play is called ‘The Four Digit Gamble’. The way the game works is that we  need two people or more to be playing. Each player will need some counters of the same color. You also need 4 six-sided dice. Each pair has a board with the numbers 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 on one line, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 on the next line below, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 on the line below this one and then the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 on the last line. Now you can start the game. First, you roll all the dice and you make any 4-digit number you want from them. For example, with 4221 you can make 2124 or 1242. The aim of the game is to get the most of your counters on the board. This game is so much fun and interesting to play. We love playing it!   Aleisha and Jasmine

‘The Four Digit Gamble’ is a game of chance. It’s really enjoyable to play but it’s also hard to win. One moment that we liked during the game was when we both kept on rolling the dice but couldn’t get the spare number! ‘Dicey Operations in Line’ was really fun to play too. When you’re bored, you can play ‘Dicey Operations in Line’ with your partner, relatives etc. One moment that we really liked was when we really wanted to get a 5 or a 6 but we kept on getting other numbers.   Brenton and Lauren

‘The Four Digit Gamble’ game is about learning how to add up numbers and place value. It’s a really interesting game for both of us because firstly we got to work together and challenge each other. When we played ‘Dicey Operations in Line’, we were really focused because we had to add up big numbers and we got better at doing this.

In Maths we’ve been playing two games called ‘The Four Digit Gamble’ and ‘Dicey Operations in Line’. They are really awesome games and we think they are easy to play. Both of us think that our favorite game is ‘The Four Digit Gamble’ because we really enjoy finding out if when we roll the 4 six-sided dice, they will match with some of the numbers on the board.   Cody and Tristan

‘The Four Digit Gamble’ Maths game is a very good game to play, even though one of us didn’t know a lot about the game at the start. It was fun especially because we have to try and make numbers using 4 six-sided dice. ‘Dicey Operations in Line’ is another very challenging game. With a partner we have to take turns to throw a nine-sided dice and then decide where to put it on our board. We try the dice nine times each until all the cells are full. The winner is whoever has the sum closest to 1000. It was fun because it’s a game of chance and you have to be lucky to think where to put the number each time.   Shamus and Callix
