7/8 Experiential Learning
At the end of last term our 7/8 Experiential Learning had a 'medieval' theme for the day. Students and teachers came dressed in their best ideal medieval costume. The day began with cooking up a feast (4 course meal), medieval style. This included a fruit and cheese platter, medieval stew, medieval porridge and an apple pie medieval style.
Students then participated in some activities which included Archery, making their own shields, bicycle jousting and horse jousting with pool noodles. (No students, bikes or horses were harmed throughout the day).
Last week the year 7 and 8s travelled to Cape Bridgewater as part of their experiential learning program. The students worked on their resilience with the Go Surf team learning about safety in the surf and persistence in catching waves and learning how to stand up on the board. The group were fantastic and really supported each other in their individual attempts to catch a wave. It was a lot of travelling and it was great to see the students making good use of their travelling time in setting up a schedule to play their music and doing mock interviews of each other to pass the time while travelling.
