Cultural Diversity Week 2024 - ARPS Multicultural Harmony Day - Wed 20th March

18th to 24th March

                                      Cultural Diversity Week 2024 - 18th to 24th March

Cultural Diversity Week is an annual celebration to recognise the diverse and vibrant multicultural communities in our state. This year’s Cultural Diversity Week is taking place in Victoria from 18th to 24th March under the theme ‘Our Shared Stories - Celebrating Together’. This powerful theme goes beyond individual narratives, encouraging us to recognise and celebrate the beautiful intersections that enrich our culturally diverse state.

The theme will be used to guide the events, activities and celebrations planned for Cultural Diversity Week.

Our Multicultural Harmony Day Celebrations and whole school performance will occur on 20th March.

Whole School Multicultural Harmony Day and Performance – Wednesday 20th March

A reminder to all families we will be celebrating our whole school ‘Multicultural Harmony Day’ next Wednesday 20th March.

This day involves acknowledging and celebrating the many cultures and traditions of families in our school and wider community. The schedule for the day will be:

9.15am: all students participate in a ‘multicultural parade’. Students get to share their chosen cultural costume and learn about the many cultures within our community. To be held under the blue sail (outdoors), weather permitting. Parents, carers and families welcome!

10.15am: Multicultural Performance: Indigenous Experience with Ganga Giri and Bunarong elder in the hall. (all classes F-6, students only)

Afternoon sessions: students participate in a range of multicultural awareness activities in classrooms.

Thank-you to Kylie Szabo (Educational Support and Marrung Lead) and Yin Zheng (Mandarin) for coordinating our school celebrations.
