Art at Holy Cross
During Art lessons at Holy Cross this term, our Year 5 and 6 children have been inspired by their Outdoor Education experiences which has carried through into their artwork. Through studying the intricate world of x-ray art, they skillfully combined Aboriginal sacred rarrk lines with cross-hatching techniques to create texture in their amphibian subjects. The children aimed to depict both external and internal frog anatomy simultaneously, and employed earthy hues to add depth and authenticity to their pieces.
Meanwhile, our Year 3 and 4 cohort drew inspiration from birds. With a focus on texture, line, and shading, they meticulously crafted owls nestled in trees. Through the manipulation of pastels, they explored the interplay of thick and thin lines, spacing, and repetition to infuse their compositions with a dynamic sense of movement and depth.
Today we are featuring artwork from Abbey, Rose, Alice, Grace, Liam and Reiltin in Year 6 and Year 3.
