Aoife's Message
Good afternoon Holy Cross families,
I can scarcely believe that Term 1 has drawn to a close. Our Preps are well and truly connected with one another and we look forward to seeing them continue to thrive next term. Harmony Day was celebrated within each classroom last week, children reflected on what it means to belong. Please see below for some information and, as always, please check out our Learning & Teaching page to learn a little more about what happens at our school each and every day.
ROAD CLOSURE - all families please read
The road closure will have a significant impact on drop off/pick up each day. I implore each family to read the detailed letter that I shared this afternoon in relation to the changes. In the short term the road closure may cause frustrations, however I ask all families to support us as we try our best to work through it. The long term gain for our school will be well worth the wait! Please see below for a copy of the letter.
Holiday repairs/painting works
You may notice some activity around the school over the holidays. The gutters on the main admin building will be replaced and some painting work will also be done. We are glad that these works can happen in the break so that there is minimal disruption to our school day.
Year 3 Sacrament of Reconciliation
Congratulations to our Year 3 children and families who will celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Tuesday 19th March. We continue to pray for you all.
Rupertswood Harvest
Thank you to Caitlyn, our Outdoor Ed teacher and Belinda Briganti, parent helper, for your amazing work in putting together our stall for Rupertswood Harvest. We have a strong connection with Salesian College Sunbury, it is wonderful to be able to connect with their community through their harvest celebrations.
Professional Learning
Last week I attended the Victorian Association Catholic Primary School Principals (VACPSP) conference. This conference is held every two years, it was an absolute joy to spend time with my fellow principals, reflecting on the theme 'leading with strength'. A host of inspirational speakers shared their stories with us. Jelena Dokic, Craig Foster, Mitch Tambo and Saroo Brierley (to name but a few) had us in awe of their resilience, strength and courage. I am very grateful to have had this experience and I thank Kellie and Kate, along with the staff of Holy Cross for their support.
