This week, students are learning to rename 3 and 4 digit numbers. 

VOCABULARY

Renaming: Giving a new name to numbers without changing their value or talking about the number in different ways e.g. 123 can also be read as 12 tens and 3 ones. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask your child to look for 3-digit numbers when you’re out shopping with them on online in a supermarket catalogue. Ask them to write down some three digit numbers and then write that number in words (e.g. three hundred and forty-five). They can also write it in  expanded form (e.g. 300 + 40 + 5) as well as using addition or subtraction (e.g. 350 - 5 = 245).
