International Day of Mathematics
Thursday 14th March is the International Day of Mathematics and serves as a timely reminder of the importance of maths in our everyday lives. Maths can evoke strong, and sometimes quite negative, emotions within us and in recent years there has been a lot of research surrounding Maths Anxiety in students, parents and teachers.
On Thursday, the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership in partnership with ACER (Australian Council for Educational Research), released some great resources for students, parents and teachers to help us better understand the connection between maths and emotional wellbeing. These are great resources to encourage us to reflect on how we perceive maths and how we talk about maths with our kids.
