Our newsletter cover photo

Last week students were busy working on a whole school creation for Harmony Day. This year is the Year of the Dragon, which is a symbol of strength, wisdom and good fortune in many cultures around the world. In the spirit of celebrating diversity and unity, each student worked on an individual dragon scale. Each scale, each colour and each detail represent a part of who we are and the values we hold at Parkdale Primary School.

100 years - pin badge

To celebrate our anniversary we have a very special commemorative pin badge on sale for $5. These pin badges are gold coloured metal with two butterfly clutch backings to hold them in place on clothing.

Badges can be ordered via Qkr! (under the 'Centenary Keepsake' tab) and will be issued at the end of each week to the student whose name they have been ordered under.

Alternatively you can pop in and buy a badge from the office (card payments only please).

Here are a few students proudly wearing their badges at school.....

Centenary Parkdale Primary School Cookbook

As part of our 100th Year Celebration, we professionally published our very own cookbook.  We chose this project because it could involve both students and their families and we have produced a cookbook full of your most loved family favourites (from quick & easy weeknight dinners to special birthday desserts). It is a truly beautiful and personalised gift for your family and friends - maybe think about this as a gift for Mother's Day?

Cookbooks are $30 each and can be ordered via Qkr! (also under the 'Centenary Keepsake' tab) , or you can buy one direct from the office.

Easter Raffle

This week the SRC have been running an Easter raffle.  Zofia and her family kindly donated a giant Yarra Valley Chocolaterie Hand Painted Easter Bunny. He is just beautiful and weighs 3kg!  The winner drawn was drawn at assembly today - congratulations to Maya in 2C!

The raffle raised an incredible $1699.40, half the money will be donated to The Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal 2024 and help to support innovative research and fund live-saving equipment. The other half will go towards a school project, which we will confirm next term.
