School Council Update

On behalf of the Parkdale Primary School Council, I would like to welcome you all back to school and well done on a fantastic Term 1.  An especially big welcome to all our new families and Foundation students. Congratulations to all the 2024 school captains and leaders.

The AGM for school council was held on 18 March and I would like to welcome new members Suzanne Black.  I would also like to thank Jess Bambridge and David Williams for continuing in their roles as Vice President and Treasurer respectively. School council would like to thank retiring members Kathryn Higgins, Grant Van Der Kruk and Helen Maas.

At the AGM the 2023 Annual Report was tabled and discussed. The Annual Report provides us with an opportunity to share the year’s performance and progress with you all. This will be available on the school website shortly and I recommend you have a look at the outcomes. Parkdale Primary continues to perform very well in all areas. Thank you to the school leadership team and all the teachers for their contribution to the outcome.

The AGM also involved school council undertaking our annual mandatory training on Victoria’s Child Safe Standards.

It has been great to see all the 100-year celebrations and especially the past students tour that was held last week. Thank you to all the PPS families for your contributions to “Parkdale Primary Cooks”.  It is a great memento of the school especially in our 100th year (there is a great summary of school history contained in the book). We are very grateful for the efforts of the PPA in organising and editing especially Phoebe Gibson, Helen Maas, Fiona Stockdale and Ange Fragiacomo.

If you have any questions about school council please feel free to contact me.

Have a lovely Easter and school holiday break.
