School Review - parents needed for a short focus group
Our school is currently in the middle of our School Review, a process that takes place every four years to reflect on our strengths & progress and establish some targets and areas for improvement for the next School Strategic Plan.
The Review Panel will be holding a 30-minute focus group with a group of parents on Tuesday 28th October from 8:55 - 9:25am to better understand the views and priorities of our families.
We would like to invite all parents and carers at the school to participate in this session. Ideally we will have a range of parents from different year levels to try and provide a representative snapshot of the perspectives and experiences of our parent community.
If you can spare the time straight after drop-off on Tuesday morning then please register using the below link Depending on the level of interest, we may need to select a group of parents to provide a range of year levels and length of time at the school.
We will be back in touch to confirm arrangements.
Reminder- Student Free Day
Students will not be required at school on Monday 3rd November - the day before the Melbourne Cup Public Holiday.
If you require supervision for your child, please sign them up at Team Kids for the day.
Seeking new Basketball Coordinator!
We are grateful to Grade 6 parent, Nick Roux who for the last couple of years has taken on the role of Basketball Coordinator at SKIPPS. As the time has come for Nick to move on, we are looking for a volunteer or two to fill this role.
The Basketball program at SKIPPS in entirely run by parents/guardians and the basketball coordinator role acts as a central point of contact between the teams, the school and new players wanting to join. They organise the training schedule at school and manage the uniforms. It is not a hugely demanding role but a rewarding one where you can contribute to a wonderful sporting program and community at SKIPPS. This position is normally filled by one or two parent/guardians.

Planning for 2026
We are well into the process of planning for next year, creating classes, employing staff and setting budgets for a successful 2026.
As our budget is determined by enrolment numbers, it is vital that we get an accurate picture of how many students we will have at SKiPPS at the start of next year.
If your Foundation - Year 5 child is going to be elsewhere next year, we would appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible.
