Principal's Message

Term 4, Week 2

Hi Everyone,

Wasn’t the International Breakfast just incredible??  I am still salivating just thinking about it!  Thank you so much to our International Breakfast committee and our P&C Executive who oversaw the organisation of this massive event! Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who prepared all the beautiful food and served it or set up and packed down.  Thank you to all our staff who helped too.  I just loved it all!  What an amazing event to bring us together as a community.  Thank you so much everyone!!

Mrs Tara Griffin, Mrs Gillian Bishop, Mrs Kristen Curtis and I were able to attend Education Queensland's Reading Symposium on the first day back at school. One of the key agendas for Education Queensland this year and beyond is reading and ensuring that every one of our students becomes a reader for life.  There was an incredible line up of presenters at this conference and it was outstanding professional development.  The evidence to support how reading is taught effectively is clear and we will be reviewing our teaching of reading practice, to ensure it is completely aligned with the evidence.

We came together as a whole school for assembly on Friday which was lovely and we were able to celebrate our extraordinary children who have participated in Mathematic competitions last term  -  we are so proud of their achievements and so grateful to Mr Chow, Mrs Lee and the teaching staff!

We also were able to celebrate our Junior Cross Country runners and hear who our overall winning house was for both Junior and Senior Cross Country  -  congratulations to Cook!!
