Yr. 10 Work Experience - Hoddle Waddle

On Tuesday, 28th October, our Year 10 students travelled to Melbourne as part of their preparation for upcoming Work Experience later this term. It was a massive day, with an early start and a late return home, but students approached the day with responsibility and enthusiasm. They explored accommodation, practised their daily commute routes and met with employers at their planned placements. This valuable experience not only helped students build confidence and independence but was also thoroughly enjoyed by all involved. A special thank you to Ms. Smith for accompanying the students on the day.

Year 11 Biology and Geography combined fieldwork

Michael and Sarah travelled to Halls Gap on Thursday to conduct fieldworks for each of Geography and Biology, respectively.

They visited Bunjil's shelter to inspect some significant indigenous rock art, visited Halls Gap Zoo, enjoyed delicious bakery items and famous ice cream while collecting data on the economic sustainability of the Halls Gap businesses, before driving up to a lookout to assess the landscape and the management of tourist hot spots.

Michael and Sarah were exceptional ambassadors for the College and acted as a reminder of how important fieldwork and excursions are, to achieve a holistic and engaging educational experience.

The ASD Cyber Security & Robotics work experience program is for Year 11–12 students. The program focuses on students who are considering further studies in a STEM-related field. The week-long program offers you an opportunity to extend your knowledge and skills through practical challenges. Students who enjoy discovering how technology works are considered favourably over those who use technology. All placements are in Canberra.
