Superstar Home Readers

Congratulations to our superstar home readers! We have been so impressed with our students’ commitment to reading at home and supporting their love of reading. These wonderful habits build on our reading in the classroom, further developing all aspects of their reading comprehension.

Bunjil Award Winners

Well done to this week’s Bunjil Award Winners. You have all begun Term 4 amazingly well, you should be very proud!

Scotsburn Working Bee Thursday October 23

Next Thursday, we have planned a working bee to get our veggie patch back up and running.  With the help of Ian Rossiter (our resident grounds and garden volunteer and Mrs Morgan’s father) and our grant received from the Community Bank Buninyong, we will be getting all hands on deck to prepare garden beds, plant veggies, construct compost bays, cover greenhouse - plus a few more jobs!

We will be running the working bee from 2:00pm - 4:30pm, so that all of the students can be involved in the process, giving them ownership of the space. Any parents willing and able to help out, we would love to see you - either from 2pm, or from 3:30pm - 4:30pm.

Working Bee Details

When: Thursday October 26

Where: Scotsburn Veggie Patch

Time: 2:00pm - 4:30pm

What you can bring: if you have an extra wheelbarrow and shovel, bring them along!

Buninyong Community Playgroup Art IncursionThis Friday

This Friday we have been lucky enough to be involved in an art incursion, organised by the Buninyong Community Playgroup. Our students will be involved in decorating wooden flowers, which will then be displayed at Barkly Square as a joint community exhibition. Thanks to the playgroup for involving us-we love the partnership we have!

Colour RunFriday October 24

The Colour Run is next week! Scotsburn students will be spending the entire day at the Buninyong campus, given that we also have a whole school assembly on that day. Event details have now been posted on Compass - please have a look and if you have any questions about the afternoon, please come and see us!

Scotsburn SleepoverThursday October 30 - Friday October 31

Our Scotsburn Sleepover is also not far away - Thursday and Friday of Week 4 -  October 30 - October 31. A compass event will be coming out in the next few days - when it comes out please have a look and provide payment and consent as soon as convenient.

This year students will go home after school to gather their belongings, have dinner and prepare for the sleepover. Students are invited to return to school at 6:30pm for a night of activities and a light supper. Breakfast, snacks and lunch will be provided for the following day.

Students will need the following:

  • Sleeping bag and pillow
  • Mattress
  • Pyjamas
  • Toiletries
  • Clothes for the following day (casual dress day - suitable attire, closed shoes, no singlets)
  • Water bottle

We will provide some additional information on the Compass event as well as in next weeks’ newsletters. We can’t wait!

2026 Scotsburn Enrolments

If you know any families that are looking to enrol their child/children for 2026 (or in the foreseeable future), please complete an enrolment form and submit it to the office at Buninyong. If you have any questions, please email Jarrod at jarrod.morgan@education.vic.gov.au

For those considering enrolment at our beautiful campus, the video below is a great snapshot of what we have to offer:

Scotsburn Intercampus Travel

At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day.

We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements.

If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher.
