Map of Key Mental Health & Wellbeing Supports
At Buninyong Primary School, we know that student wellbeing plays a huge role in having a positive experience at school. To help families and staff understand the supports available, we’ve put together a document called the Map of Key Mental Health and Wellbeing Supports.
This guide outlines the different levels of wellbeing support offered both within our school and through community services in the Ballarat region. It’s designed to make it easier for families to see what help is available and how to access it when needed.
The framework is based on three levels of support:
• Tier 1, Universal Supports: Whole-school approaches that build a positive environment and promote wellbeing for all stud ents.
• Tier 2, Early Intervention: Extra support for students who might need a bit of help to stay engaged and connected.
• Tier 3, Targeted Support: Personalised and intensive help for students with more complex or ongoing needs.
The map also lists a wide range of external agencies that can offer counselling, family programs, and specialist mental health services.
It’s important to note that this isn’t an exhaustive list, but it does include some really valuable pathways for both in-school and external support. Our goal is to help families feel informed and confident about the wellbeing options available in our community.
Over Term 4, we’ll be taking a closer look at some of these external supports in our weekly newsletters. Each week, we’ll shine a light on one or two services, explaining what they offer and how they can support children and families.
If you’d like to learn more or discuss what supports might be right for your child, please get in touch with our Wellbeing Team.
