Principal's Report

TRANSITION FROM KINDER TO PREP
Our Pre-Schooler Program has been running successfully at both campuses early in term 4 for many years and provides an excellent opportunity for students to become familiar and comfortable with the primary school environment.
The Pre-Schooler Program for 2025 started last week and it was lovely to host an excited, although slightly nervous, cohort of kinder kids (and parents) at both campuses. The children were remarkably settled, and no doubt will feel more comfortable and confident in the school environment as the program continues.
REGIONAL ATHLETICS
Last Thursday I had the pleasure of looking after 12 students representing our school at the regional athletics competition. We were battling the elements to some extent, as the wind was unrelenting, making it quite cold. But the kids were undeterred and did an excellent job. They competed really well and had a lovely time.
Quite a few came home with a medal or multiple medals for finishing in the top three for their event/s. Special congratulations to Lenny T, Lycan G and Milla H who finished in the top two of events and have qualified to compete at the state athletics competition in Melbourne in November. There’s another event we now have to look forward to.
Thanks to Shona Hendley and Linda Wight for joining us on Thursday and supporting the kids across the day.
GRADE 2 SLEEPOVER
Good luck to all of the grade 2 students and staff who have their sleepover on Thursday night. The event is always lots of fun and the kids enjoy the novelty of hanging out with others in their year level for an extended period and spending the night at school. A big thank you to a committed group of parents who are taking part and helping the kids feel safe and secure.
ENERGY BREAKTHROUGH (EBT) BBQ
Today the EBT are at the Haddon Go Cart Track with other Ballarat schools for a ‘test and try’ day. This will be a good opportunity for the team to test out the bikes over an extended period, see how their fitness levels are tracking and get more experience in the bikes under race conditions.
