Dear Parents and carers
As a community, we are still feeling the sadness of the recent passing of Valentino Lunardi and George Fernandes, both much-loved parents within our school. In the coming weeks, we will hold a Whole School Prayer Liturgy to remember Valentino, and George, and to offer our prayers and support to their families. The date and time will be shared with families as soon as possible.
As you can imagine, these losses have deeply touched our community. The Lunardi, and Fernandes families are each grieving and will need time and space to heal. We will continue to support them in whatever ways they may need, when they feel ready to receive it.
It is natural that your child may have questions about illness or death during this time. We encourage you to listen to them with care and understanding, and perhaps offer a short prayer together at home for these families as this may bring comfort and reassurance.
If you have any concerns or feel your child needs support, please don’t hesitate to contact me at school.
We ask that you keep Valentino, and George, along with their families and friends, in your thoughts and prayers.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace. Amen.
We wish our First Lego League team all the best as they represent St Fidelis at Caulfield Grammar this week. The students have been working hard to design, build, and program their robots as part of this exciting competition that celebrates creativity, teamwork, and innovation. We’re so proud of their efforts and know they’ll represent our school with pride and enthusiasm. Good luck to Mr Frazzetto and the team.
Social media platforms, such as TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook, have an age restriction of 13+.
Research shows that early use of these apps can increase risks such as cyberbullying, anxiety, and disrupted sleep. From 10 December 2025, these age limits will increase to 16+ to better protect young people online. We encourage families to support this change to help keep our students safe and promote healthy, balanced technology use.
Join us this Saturday for Bogan Bingo, a fun night to come together as a community, share a few laughs, and enjoy each other’s company. Thanks to the P&F committee for all the background work behind the scenes. THERE ARE STILL TICKETS AVAILABLE

The first two weeks of Term 4, students will have the option to wear summer or winter uniform as the weather slowly transitions to warmer temperatures - not a mix of both. All children will be expected to wear full summer uniform from Monday 20th October. ‘No Hat, No Play.’ Please ensure your child has a school hat for outdoor play and activities. Uniforms can be ordered online from PSW.
Have a great week

SUNSMART: Wearing of Hats
St Fidelis is a SunSmart School and our policy reflects the recommendations of the Sun Smart organisation. The Bureau of Meteorology provides information about the times of day UV levels are forecast to reach 3 or higher, meaning that sun protection is recommended for all skin types. In Victoria UV levels regularly reach 3 or higher from mid – August to the end of April.
As part of general Sun Smart strategies, our school:
Requires children outdoors without hats to sit in a designated shaded area during play times from the beginning of September to the end of April or whenever UV levels reach three or more. NO HAT- NO PLAY.
All staff and parents are encouraged to access the daily local sun protection times via the free Sun smart app, or at sunsmart.com.au or the widget on our website.
All children are to wear hats beginning this week. We will be give the children and families this week to remember that a hat will be required from now on until the end of April,
