Transition Sessions at Balambalam

Session 1: Tuesday 2nd Decemember 3:45pm - 4:45pm  - Open School

Session 2: Tuesday 9th December 2:00pm - 3:30pm (Statewide Transition Day)

Our Transition Sessions are an important part of helping every child feel confident, comfortable, and connected before their first day of school.

Session 1 – 3:45pm to 4:45pm – Open School - Tuesday 2nd December 

During this first session, families will attend together. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the school, look through classrooms, and walk around the grounds as your child begins to transition into the spaces where they’ll soon learn and play. Staff will be available to meet and chat with families, and we’re hoping to have some additional partners on site, such as our uniform provider and OSHC service. 

Session 2 – 2:00pm - 3:30pm - In Classrooms with Teachers - Tuesday 9th December

In the second session, students will take part in activities inside their classrooms with their teachers and classmates. This time is all about beginning to build relationships, make new friends, and feel at home in their new learning environment.

Transition isn’t just about visiting the school , it’s about building connections, reducing first-day nerves, and ensuring that when students walk through the gates on Day 1, they already feel part of the Balambalam community.

The Balambalam Family Info Night : Preparing for a Successful Start   

Thursday 4th December 5:30pm 

This important session at the end of the year is designed to help families feel ready and confident for the start of school next year.  On the night, we’ll cover everything you need to know , from first-day routines and parking, to communication, uniforms, and key start-of-year details.

You’ll also meet members of our staff and learn more about our new school.  Noone our uniform supplier and Team Kids are also avilalbe to talk with families on the night.

January Open Day at Balambalam

Friday 16th January 2026 - 10am - 2pm

Tuesday 20th January 2026 - 10am - 2pm

Before the school year begins, we’re opening our doors again for families to come and explore Balambalam Primary School.

Bring your family,  and a picnic if you like,  and take the time to wander through our beautiful new spaces. You’ll be able to look inside classrooms, visit the library, see where art and music will take place, explore the gym, and enjoy the outdoor areas your children will soon call their own.

This relaxed day is all about beginning to feel a sense of belonging , connecting with the school, the spaces, and each other before Day 1.
