AROUND THE SCHOOL

We are never alone in sharing the faith, because it is the Lord with me who transmits the faith, and Jesus promised: “I will be with you every day until the end of the world.”

- Pope Francis

St Laurence O'Toole Primary School acknowledges the traditional custodians of this land, the Bunurong and Gunaikurnai people of the Kulin Nation.  We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander cultures, and to the Elders, past, present and emerging.

Principal’s Message

Advent begins this Sunday, 3 December, and is a time of joyful anticipation as we prepare our hearts for the Christmas season and our new liturgical year. We begin this season by lighting the first of 4 candles (hope) on our Advent wreath representing hope, peace, joy, and love.

At St Laurence O'Toole, our classroom prayer tables will be clothed in purple and each week our students will explore what Advent means for them and prepare their hearts for God’s endless love and mercy.

I invite you too, to now unite with us and quiet your hearts during what secularly may become a busy holiday season, so that we may grow closer to Jesus.

Two more weeks of school and lots of learning and activities still to be completed and enjoyed.  Look out for each other, maintain good routines and reach out for support when you need to.  Every day counts!

Prayer

Dear Jesus, you entered our world on Christmas as the Prince of Peace. This Advent, as we strive to become the best version of ourselves, fill us with a deep and abiding peace. Help us share that peace with everyone we encounter, especially those who need it most.

Amen
